Our Story
Shelby and Saikiran were first in the same place, at the same time at the 2013 FRC Inland Empire Regional, but we didn't know it until years later. We were next in the same place at the same time in 2019 at San Pedro Square in San Jose, California for another robotics competition, now as adults. Shelby noticed Saikiran, but we were not introduced. In 2020, Shelby decided to message Saikiran on Instagram, and we have spoken every day since. For the year following, Saikiran would make multiple trips, driving 1,000 miles each way across the southwest US to Colorado to spend time with Shelby.
In 2022, we moved to San Jose together for work, and have since built a shared and deeply cherished life.
Over the years in San Jose, we have found favorite coffee shops, restaurants, bars, parking spots, grocery stores, and traditions. Summer BBQs, Pool Parties, Harry Potter Movie Marathons, Christmas parties, and weekly dinners fill our home with friends and family. Volunteering to start a Non-Profit STEM Organization and coach the robotics program at the local public high school further enriches our lives (and fills all our free time). When we find time to travel, we usually make a trip to Disneyland, but have traveled as far as Switzerland! We are looking forward to whatever else the future holds for us.
